About Tako

What does this site do?

Tako is an entertainment site where you press a button and Tako, our oracle octopus, hands you a call — long (up) or short (down) on Bitcoin futures. It's light content to enjoy like pulling a fortune, not investment advice or a trading signal.

Is it just random?

Half yes, half no. Tako reads five real market signals — the Fear & Greed Index, funding rate, top-trader position ratio, all-account long/short ratio, and 24h momentum — and tips the odds ever so slightly. But it's designed so neither side ever leaves the 15% to 85% range, so the result is always random within that margin. Curious about the math? Why did we build it?

The crypto community has long joked about flipping a coin over "long or short." We figured if you're flipping a coin anyway, it'd be more fun to have an octopus who actually reads market data flip it for you. At the same time, we put together educational content so folks meeting signals like Fear & Greed or funding rate for the first time can pick up the concepts easily in the Blog.
